I'm
a re-patriated New Orleans native who early on took an interest
in the visual arts. My juvenile delinquent years were mildly tempered
by a diligent pursuit of drawing, painting and sculpture. But
the hallowed halls of higher learning knocked on my door to invite
me into financial debt for a decade, I jumped right in and over
to the "debtor's paradise" New York City.
My college years were spent studying glassblowing,
theater, studio arts, animation, film, and Russian art and culture
(I was a bit overly optimistic during those Glasnost/Perestroika
days). Though I would most actively pursue film over the next
few years, my fraternization with a shadowy underclass of nerds
known as "hackers" would bring about my true destiny...my
true calling... my true career...my true paycheck.
For the bulk of the 90's I built my career working
in Silicon Alley as an internet creative and strategist. From
the ranks of the lowly Interface Designers, I quickly rose to
lead project teams and client campaigns that ran the gamut of
industries: banks, insurance, publishing, entertainment, car manufacturers,
retail, B2B, hospitality, intranets, etc. Basically, you name
it, and I've worked with a similar client or competitor.
I pioneered wireless and broadband strategies
for many of my clients and helped to create the structure of Multi-Channel
Networked Brand Experiences.
But soon after my
lovely wife bore me a
son, I realized a longing to return home to New Orleans. It
seems all New Orleans ex-pats return eventually like salmon. So
we traded in the Big City for the Big Easy.
